🏗️ The Role

We’re hiring a Full-Stack Engineer who can confidently deliver both frontend and backend features. This is a high-impact role — you’ll work closely with the Product Owner, ship features fast, and see your work in the hands of real users within weeks.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Frontend:

    • Build mobile-first, responsive UIs with React, TypeScript, and TailwindCSS.

    • Implement smooth flows for filters → results → maps → saves/shares.

    • Ensure accessibility and mobile performance.

  • Backend:

    • Design and manage schemas in Postgres with PostGIS for geospatial queries.

    • Write optimized SQL for distance, nearest-neighbor, and fairness checks.

    • Build APIs and serverless functions consumed by the frontend.

  • Integrations & Data:

    • Create pipelines to ingest places, events, and weather data from external APIs.

    • Ensure data is deduplicated, fresh, and fast.

  • Quality:

    • Write unit and integration tests.

    • Document APIs and schemas.

    • Follow Git workflows with PR reviews.

✅ Requirements

  • 3–5+ years professional development experience.

  • Strong skills in React, TypeScript, and TailwindCSS.

  • Strong SQL and database design skills.

  • Hands-on experience with PostGIS (spatial queries, indexing, optimization).

  • Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs (building + integrating).

  • Comfort with consumer-facing apps (performance, polish, UX).

  • Solid Git and CI/CD practices.

🌟 Bonus Skills

  • Experience integrating AI into workflows (e.g., GitHub Copilot, LLM-powered features).

  • Experience with venue/event APIs (Google Places, Eventbrite, Ticketmaster).

  • Familiarity with caching strategies and performance tuning.

  • Experience with React Native/Expo for mobile deployment.

📋 First 3-Month Goals

  • Deliver a frontend flow from filters → results → cards → save/share.

  • Build geospatial queries for common scenarios like “Coffee & Walk.”

  • Integrate weather checks with indoor Plan-B alternatives.

  • Deliver a polished beta app in one city with <2.5s search latency.
